| Metrohm® 841 Volumetric Karl
Fischer Titrando®
Sometimes small details can lead to the biggest successes. The right accessories for
your titrator can complete the system, and Metrohm has a full line of accessories for Titrandos. Here
are some of our favorites—designed to improve safety in the lab and to make your titrator more
efficient.

The new 803 KF Titration Stand
The new 803 Titration Stand is a built-in stirrer with an integrated membrane pump
that can be used to aspirate or add solvent without opening the cell. That translates to increased
lab safety and reduced conditioning times. The 803 Titration Stand comes with an overflow protection
valve in the waste bottle that stops the pump if the waste bottle is full, preventing waste from
entering the diaphragm of the pump.

Automatic reagent change—so very easy!
An even more comfortable option is the automatic reagent change with the Metrohm Dosino.
With the press of a button, the exhausted solvent is aspirated, the vessel cleaned and fresh solvent
is added to the cell.
Automation pays dividends!
Increasing sample throughput, automating time-consuming sample preparation steps and
unattended overnight operation are good reasons for using sample changers. Whether you require small
or large sample capacity, sample pipetting or automatic exchange of the KF reagent, the new 814 USB
Sample Processor and a KF automation kit offer a high degree of automation at low investment costs.
It’s amazing: simply connect the sample changer to Titrando’s USB port, and the world
of automation opens up.
Lab Link
The 825 Lab Link provides the non-PC-controlled Titrando with direct access to computer
networks for unlimited and secure memory space for results and methods, exchange of determination
methods and configurations, connection to LIMS and long-term archiving programs as well as system
backup.
With a footprint of less than a sheet of paper, the 825 Lab Link performs the data
exchange via a TCP/IP connection. Any number of Titrando systems (consisting of Titrando, Touch Control
and Lab Link) can be connected to a network. The Lab Link Server software takes over the administration
of the network and makes available freely definable network directories for storage purposes.
- Storing results: view them remotely at any time or by other Titrando users
- PC/LIMS reports: store the results for long-term archiving or LIMS
- Storing methods: once stored, all Titrando users can benefit
- System backup
- Email/SMS: let Titrando keep you informed
- Eliminate the need for a PC next to the KF titrator, saving space!
Never before has a titrator been so communicative!
Karl Fischer ovens
A KF oven is recommended for samples that
cannot be introduced directly into the KF cell (e.g., solids, samples not miscible in KF solvent).
The 832 KF Oven can be used to process individual samples, one at a time. The 774 Oven Sample Processor
is the ideal solution for analysis of up to 35 samples.
Reagents
A Karl Fischer titrator is only as good as the reagents you use with it. For over
20 years, chemists have trusted the Hydranal® line of Karl Fischer reagents.
You can purchase the complete Hydranal line directly from
Brinkmann.
KF Homogenizer system
The particle size of some samples must be reduced before putting them in a KF cell.
Samples can pick up moisture if you grind the sample before a KF analysis. Use the KF Homogenizer
system to break up the sample directly in the cell, immediately before the analysis, for increased
precision and accuracy. Also useful for samples, such as paints and oils, that aren’t readily
miscible in the KF solvent.
Balances
When you connect a balance directly to your KF titrator, the weight is transferred
with the touch of a button—eliminating potential errors due to manually entering the weight
on the keypad. We recommend either Mettler Toledo® or Sartorius®
analytical balances with a readability of at least 0.1 mg for volumetric Karl Fischer titration. See
the full line of balances offered through Brinkmann. |
