McIIwain Tissue Chopper
Unlike other sectioning methods or cell disruption
techniques, the McIlwain Mechanical Tissue Chopper does not destroy the
fine structure of cell materials.
Applications
- Metabolic experiments
- Microscopic determination of enzyme reaction products
- Materials that lend themselves readily to sectioning,
including specimens of the intestine, kidney, liver, parts of the CNS,
pituitary and other glands, spleen, and stomach
|
Product features
- Produces uniform 1 µm- to 1 mm-thick slices
from biopsy specimens or small organs in less than one minute(preliminary
fixation may be required)
- Fresh tissue sections, 5 to 15 µm thick, often
have sufficient transparency for examination by light microscopy
