Drop Volume Tensiometer TVT-2
The Lauda TVT-2 uses the principle that the volume of a drop falling
from a needle is directly related to the surface or interfacial tension
of the test solution. Drop volume determination with the TVT-2 is accurate
and precise. (The sensitivity for interfacial tension is 0.1 mN/m and
for drop volume is 0.01 µl.)
Features
- Characterizes dynamic behavior of surfactant molecules in the range
of seconds to hours on both surfaces and interfaces
- Gas-tight closure of systemallows for measurement of highly
volatile and/or toxic substances
- Eliminates wetting problems encountered with ring, plate, or frame
techniques
- Requires minimal sample amounts from 250 µl to 5 ml
- Maintains constant temperature (5 to 90°C) in entire measuring
system
- Allows drop formation speed to be adjustedresults are based
solely on drop dynamics and not the effects of turbulence on drop surface
- Automatically adjusts intensity of drop detection light cellideal
for measuring opaque liquids
Computer Control and Software
- Evaluation of measured surface and interfacial tensions
- Presentation of data in tabular and/or graphic formats
- Extrapolation of data to static (equilibrium) values
