743 Rancimat®
Bringing flexibility to the oxidative stability analysis of natural fats and oils
The 743 Rancimat is a modern, easy-to-use, computer-controlled instrument for oxidative stability
analysis of fats, oils and other rendered products, including biodiesel. With 8 sample positions,
2 separate heating blocks and a software solution for controlling methods, samples and data, the 743
Rancimat is designed to meet the demands of both research and high volume testing labs.
Applications:
- Vegetable fats/oils: soy, sunflower, corn, canola, coconut, peanut, palm, etc.
- Animal fats/oils: butter, fish oil, lard, etc.
- Fat- or oil-containing products:
- Direct measurements: margarine
- After fat extraction: cereals, biscuits, cookies, nuts, bacon, sausages, meat, etc.
- Antioxidant research
- Oxidative stability of biodiesel and FAME (fatty acid methyl ester)
- Oxidation stability of light heating oil with Cu catalyst
Features:
- Eight measuring stations at two different temperatures for analysis of multiple samples
- Up to 4 Rancimat instruments per PC—up to 32 samples at up to 8 different temperatures
- Individual start of each channel to ensure consistent results
- Disposable reaction vessels to eliminate cross-contamination
- Complete Windows® 98/2000/XP control of heating block, curve evaluations,
methods and calculations
- Simple data handling and sample analysis for one or more samples
- Database archive with sorting, filtering and data export options
- Automated and manual curve evaluations using direct and tangential method
- Temperature extrapolation: conversion of the results to other temperatures, such as storage temperature
- Integrated validation and GLP features for exact calibration of the 743 Rancimat
Software
The 743 Rancimat software offers complete Windows-based control and storage of method parameters,
including temperature, time and air flow rates.
Large amounts of sample data can be automatically stored and evaluated based on selected customized
or standard methods, such as the American Oil Chemist Society’s AOM-AOCS Cd 12c-92. Curve and
temperature evaluations include the ability to estimate product shelf life.
Accuracy and reproducibility
Designed with eight positions of disposable reaction vessels and easy-to-handle measuring cells
to minimize cleaning time, the 743 Rancimat saves time and cost while significantly improving accuracy
and reproducibility.
The GLP Test Kit with the certified temperature sensor now makes it possible to adjust sample temperature
settings more precisely and reproducibly, thus making results more consistent across samples.
