Metrohm® Titrode® Electrodes

New direction in electrode design

Metrohm Titrodes and MicroTitrodes combine two measuring electrodes into a unique metal/glass combinations electrode. Depending on your titration, one would work as the indicator electrode the other as the reference.

No typical electrode problems

  • No reference filling solution needed—no question of which electrolyte to use and no electrolyte solution precipitation
  • No reference diaphragm—eliminates blocked diaphragm problems or frozen ground-glass joints
  • No storage problems—simply store in distilled water

Applications

  • Acid/Base Titrations, Aqueous or Non-Aqueous—the glass electrode of either the Pt or Ag Titrode is the measuring electrode, the metal provides a very stable
  • Acidic precipitation/argentometry titrations, the Silver Titrode and Micro Titrode uses the silver ring as the indicator with the glass offering a constant reference
  • In the alkaline sulfide and mercaptan titrations, again the silver Titrodes provide consistent results with the unique combination.
  • Other typical redox titrations such as the acidic iron(II) sulphate with KMnO4 or diazotisation with sodium nitrite, can be done very well with the Platinum Titrode and the Micro Titrode
