Metrohm® Aquatrode®
Electrodes
Metrohm Aquatrode Plus—the new electrode design for
water analysis
The Aquatrode Plus combination pH glass electrode has been designed specifically
for pH measurements and acid-base titrations in ion-deficient or low-conducting
samples, such as natural surface water, DI water, or those in weakly buffered
solutions.
A winning combination
With an innovative fixed ground sleeve for reference solutions, an electrolyte
gel, and a highly responsive glass, the Aquatrode Plus is well suited
for many different environments and applications, including field measurements,
water pH measurements, and water hardness for both research and production.
Special glass measuring membrane
The pH glass membrane of the Aquatrode Plus is made of blue T glass. Characterized
by its comparatively low resistance, it gives the Aquatrode Plus its fast
response time. In addition, the membrane shape and reduced thickness also
help minimize the electrical resistance, aiding in its reduced response
time.
“Long Life” Reference system
This new electrode uses the Metrohm “Long Life” reference
system; an Ag/AgCl cartridge with a silver ion barrier that ensures an
extended life and consistent measurements.
New
problem-free diaphragm
Due to its more defined electrolyte flow and minimized blockage, the electrolyte
diaphragm of choice for precision pH measurements is the sleeve diaphragm,
which results in an extremely reliable and precise measuring system. With
a fixed sleeve design that creates a sharp and well-defined interface
between the sample and the sleeve, the possibility of sample carryover
is greatly reduced, minimizing cross contamination and memory effects.
