RNA extraction

The RNA is extracted or isolated from tissues from mammals and plants. Due to the low homogenization volume, the most popular units for doing this are the KINEMATICA POLYTRON^® PT 1200 E, PT 1300 D, PT 1600 E and PT 2100 homogenizers.

Most of the procedures require either a 5- or 7-mm generator, which is obviously no problem with any of the above listed units. These small generators also allow the work to be done in small Eppendorf Tubes^®.

The combination of the small tubes and generators provide the most efficient way of doing the critical homogenization step in the isolation process.
